Not so in either CW or TH. In the Ordinalia u and v are in variation.
In BM f is often written for v. In Tregear v sometimes represents u.
In neither CW nor TH is the word for "flood" written with <u>. In both
cases the word has <w>.
There is no case, I believe, for taking the spellings lywe and lew to
imply a final [v]. Both, I believe, contain [w].
The evidence for final v is OM lyf and Lhuyd's lyv.
